Our dentists aim to use their experience in this field to provide the best diagnosis and treatment for your heavily damaged tooth. Root canal therapy is a procedure often completed when a tooth has been heavily decayed, fractured or traumatised to the point that the nerve of the tooth has become affected. This treatment is often completed over three appointments, with the aim of helping you avoid extraction of your damaged tooth. It will involve removing any bacteria and remnants of the nerve within the root(s) of your tooth. This treatment is then often followed by the placement of a full-coverage crown (lab-fabricated using either gold, porcelain or zirconia) to restore the tooth and provide protection long-term.
